Ivory Cymbidium is a small to medium size orchid, found in the forests of
eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Myanamar, S. China and Vietnam, on trees and
rocks at elevations of 300-2000 m. The flowers, ivory-white with yellow-
banded lips, are 8-12 cm across. The species name eburneum means
ivory-like. Each pseudobulb usually carries two inflorescences (sometimes
more) but there are only one or two flowers per inflorescence. The clustered pseudobulbs are enveloped at the base by several imbricating leaf bases carrying 9 to 15 linear-ligulate, thin textured, acute or acutely bifid leaves
